In this Missha Safeblock Rx UV Rosy Tone Up Sun SPF 50 sunscreen lotion review, I test a pretty terrible SPF 50. Thanks again to “K” for this sunscreen!

Just yesterday my family and I took a trip to the Bixby Bridge in Big Sur since HWY 1 reopened after 3 years (closed because of landslide). On the way home we visited Carmel-by-the-sea and walked the cute storybook themed town laced with expensive stores and tourist trap souvenir shops. This Missha product looked like it could have been sold at any of those high-end luxury stores – they really did a great job with the design of the packaging and tube. Despite appearing like a high quality product on the outside however, the efficacy of the product inside was disappointing. I wonder how many tourists go to Carmel and purchase high quality looking products just to return home and find disappointment instead.

On another random Carmel blurb, when we were walking on the busy sidewalk, a very wealthy looking woman (who seemed like a local) was standing on the outer portion of the sidewalk, while her leashed and very well groomed dog was laying down in the middle of the sidewalk. The orientation of the leashed dog and woman blocked about 75% of the walkway and forced everyone to go around them. Mind you, the foot traffic during this time was quite heavy. Do people really lack that much self-awareness? Is it just an entitlement thing, or is it just a lonely woman looking for attention? Maybe she has borderline personality disorder. I dunno, but I thought that was really strange.

The Missha Safeblock Rx UV Rosy Tone Up Sun SPF 50 sunscreen lotion is a hybrid sunscreen formula which contains Titanium Dioxide, Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, and Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone (concentrations not indicated).

The Missha Safeblock Rx Rosy Tone Up Sun reduced 50.94% of irradiated UVA, 48.07% UVB, and 49.87% of total UVI. Not good.

The Missha Safeblock Rx UV Rosy Tone Up sunscreen distributed unevenly, yet left a thick enough layer where it should have filtered enough UV. Unfortunately, this formula did not seem to block UV light effectively.
