In this Sun Bum Face SPF 70 sunscreen lotion review, I find a sunscreen lotion which protects well against harmful UV.
Once upon a time, there was a lowly sunscreen tester, and this sunscreen tester had just started his journey testing sunscreen. With only a few sunscreen tested under his belt, he was excited to test some products from a cool brand named Sun Bum. Now, in those early days of testing, this lowly sunscreen tester was very much open to the power of suggestion for how positively a product performed just by it being presented in well designed product packaging.
Sun Bum tubes and bottles looked so so sweet, it must be good, right!? Unfortunately, that proved utter nonsense, and the lowly simple minded sunscreen tester was forever heartbroken for having trusted such beauty in the first place. “All that matters is what’s on the inside!” he would lament in a jaded internal monologue while looking forlornly out his window on a high UVI sunny day.
Needless to say, when this lowly sunscreen tester came across a nice new tube of Sun Bum Face 70, he scoffed and felt the sting of betrayal which he had experienced early on in his sunscreen testing journey. Would he again be burned again while simultaneously having his hopes dashed into thousands of little pieces after awaiting the sunscreen test results in eager anticipation?
Joyfully, he would not be.
*The end*
The Sun Bum Face SPF 70 sunscreen lotion sunscreen lotion is a chemical based formulation containing Avobenzone at 3%, Homosalate at 15%, Octisalate at 5%, and Octocrylene at 10% concentration. Seeing the high percentage of active UV filtering ingredients gave me hope that this sunscreen would not disappoint, and disappoint it did not.
The Sun Bum Face SPF 70 sunscreen lotion filtered UVA by 97.60%, reduced UVB by 95.79%, and blocked total UVI by 97.48%. While results were not “Wow SPF 70 amazing!” amazing, the product performed very well. Typically a strong SPF 50 will test in the 95-99% range of UVI reduction.

The Sun Bum Face 70 sunscreen lotion has a very low viscosity and is really runny. It is possibly because of the low viscosity that the lotion spreads evenly.
